The Excavation Challenge: Dewatering a 50’ long x 12’ wide x 20’ deep trench shoring box for a pipe jacking (trenchless) pipeline construction project just 100 yards from the Pacific Ocean. The contaminated water required treatment to meet the stringent conditions of the discharge permit from the municipality.
The Baker Dry Trench Solution: Drill two nearby wells and install submersible pumps in each. Install piping, manifolds, flowmeter, dual 2K carbon vessels and bag units for filtration at a 100 gpm (gallons per minute) rate. The entire Baker system was pre-approved by the city, and its discharge met all applicable standards and received the necessary permits. System pre-approval resulted in time and efficiency savings for the customer. Further, the pipeline company gained complete confidence in Baker’s prescribed treatments, dewatering engineering, and equipment availability.
